Noah's First Week at Daycare

Monday, Noah and Mom visited Noah's daycare for three hours during the afternoon. Noah enjoyed watching the other kids play and tot around for a little while, but he spent most of his time at daycare sleeping. Mom had a nice time chatting with Noah's teachers and watching the other kids. Mom's still getting used to the whole process for daycare. Unfortunately, she forgot to check him in and out properly on Monday. Better luck Tuesday.

Tuesday, Mom spent an hour with Noah at daycare in the morning and then left to run errands before her first day back to work. She thought about him and worried all day while she was away. It's was very hard to leave Noah in the morning because he was happy until Mom was just about out the door and then he started to cry one of his panic cries. I fought the urge to go running back an comfort him and I let his teacher know that I was still going to try to sneak away. His teachers are very capable and surely Noah was comforted by one of them soon after Mom was gone.

Wednesday was Noah's first full day at daycare... and he slept through most of it. This made for a difficult night for Mom and Dad at home because he awoke ever hour throughout the night. Noah did stay awake long enough to notice his new friends and catch a cold.

Thursday was a good day for Noah. Though he was very tired, his teachers tried to keep him up as much as possible in the hopes that he would sleep better for Mom and Dad Thursday night. But to no avail... Noah awoke every two hours throughout the night.

Friday, Noah was a happy camper at daycare and Mom was a Zombie at work. With blurry eyes, Mom made it through the day while Noah played and chatted with his new friends. Noah had his first buggy ride in the quadruple buggy. I snapped a cute photo of him. Unfortunately, we had a little snafu with the camera and the photo was lost. I'll have to take another one next time I catch him in the buggy.

Overall daycare was much easier for Noah than Mom. Fortunately, Noah is attending daycare at Bright Horizons in Medtronic so Mom is able to visit him everyday during lunch or a break. It has been nice to be able to have that extra time to connect with Noah and nurse him if he hasn't eaten recently.

Noah loves his teachers and enjoys watching the older infants crawl and tot around the room. His teachers read books and sing songs and play with the little ones all day long. We appreciate them very much already because we know they are taking very good care of our precious little one.
