I have 9 teeth and I know how to use them...

Noah got his first molar three weeks ago. About that time, he started biting and hitting when he's angry. We're working hard to teach him more appropriate behaviors, but we haven't been altogether successful yet. We're starting to worry that if we can't teach him appropriate methods of expressing his anger and frustration he may take it out on other kids in his class. Fortunately (or maybe it's unfortunately), we know he's not the only one in his class with biting issues. Last week, he came home with teeth marks on his index finger because he got into an altercation with another little guy when Noah stole his toy. Maybe Noah is perfecting his hitting and biting on us so that he has efficient methods of defending himself at daycare. Regardless, we would much prefer him to walk away and find another toy with which to play.

Noah is working on three more molars. Hopefully the inappropriate behaviors are not proportionate to the number of molars he has in his mouth. Time will tell...

Julia gets bit at daycare all the time when she steals toys. She came home once with two very clean and clear teeth impressions in her right and left arm a few weeks ago. Luckily, she hasn't gotten into biting herself.
